From the Vassar College Catalogue:
International students whose first language is not English must show formal academic study of their home language at the high school level or above to fulfill this requirement. For international students attending high schools in which instruction is in English, the transcript must show multiple years of formal instruction in the home language to qualify for an exemption.
If you are an international student whose first language is English, your language requirement cannot be met through this process. In order to complete your language requirement, please review your options in the College Catalogue.
Please only complete this form if you meet all of the below:
- you are an international student who attended high school outside of the United States
- your first language is not English
- you completed formal academic coursework of your home language during high school
Example: You are an international student from China who attended high school in China, your first language is Chinese, and you studied Chinese in high school.
